Buoys - Tiffany Loraine

I swallowed you whole

but I had no choice

for I craved delusions

in a quiet voice

I swallowed you whole

with voracious thirst

but your buoyant promises

choked me first

The all enchanting sparkles

I had grown to love in excess

were the floating lies, inside your eyes

that kept me bare and breathless

so I decided it a better choice

to cut the ties and history

but as I began to sink and drown

survival was a mystery

In a panic I considered

all your promises of love

a book of rich dishonesty

I was absolutely sure of

but like the tide and seasons change

sureness does not exist

to be sure of something is a hoax

for momentary bliss

I think I knew within myself

there was more to life than him

and the buoy lies were futile

because I know how to swim

Welcome to my little corner of the world! My name is Tiffany. I am a passionate writer and animal lover based in Southern California. As an avid nature writer, I draw inspiration from the beauty of the natural world and the poetry of greats like Robert Frost, Mary Oliver, William B. Yeats, and Emily Dickinson, to name a few. With a BA in English and creative writing, I channel my love for literature into my writing, using nature as my muse. I foster a deep appreciation for both animals and the environment in my professional, personal, and creative endeavors.

As the founder and president of Cleo’s Kittens Inc., I devote my free time to rescuing and rehabilitating cats in need. I share my life with my friends, two playful dogs, and eleven affectionate cats, all of whom inspire my work in their own special way.
